Apple’s ‘AirPods’ may use proprietary “Bluetooth-like” connection

The Apple iPhone 7’s launch is less than 24 hours away and the rumors continue to churn, right on schedule. According an Apple Insider source, “Apple will likely have its own-designed Bluetooth-like communication chip and launch own-brand Bluetooth headphones targeting the high-end market, with Beats positioned in the midrange market,” – Kuo, analyst connected with KGI securities.
Apple is believed to be launching its own ‘Airpods’ (if the name is to be used this way) alongside the Apple iPhone 7 and it is supposed to feature a new proprietary Bluetooth-like communication chip. If this is the kind of structure that Apple is going for, it would not be possible to use these new Airpods on any other device except Apple devices.

If Apple is indeed building these ‘Airpods’, we should not expect that they will be bundled with the new iPhone. Rather, we should expect to see these Airpods as a separate accessory with a separate price tag.
The iPhone 7 will be announced officially on September 7 at 10AM Pacific Time.
